Our Mission

For AR People advances a responsible democracy in Arkansas by educating the public about issues that impact our daily lives and holding politicians accountable. We provide opportunities for Arkansans to speak up for their values — like transparency and accountability in state government — and build a stronger state that works for everyone, not just those at the top.

WHAT WE DO

We connect the dots between people and policy, and we give action ideas to build a stronger state.

WHAT YOU DO

Build a better Arkansas where:

  • All eligible people can access democracy
  • All have freedom to be safe, healthy, and have bodily autonomy
  • All receive opportunity to thrive

MEET THE TEAM

Gennie Diaz: Founding Director

Gennie believes Arkansans deserve empowerment in and ownership of their state government. A California transplant with deep roots in Arkansas, she fell in love with the Ozarks—the same dwelling as her ancestors—and calls it home today. She has been a proud Fayettevillian for over 20 years. When she’s not politicking, find her in the garden or at bluegrass concerts. [email protected]

Sam Watson: Content Director

Sam is an Arkansas transplant by way of Texas and Georgia. After moving to Arkansas in 2020, he fell in love with the state —its people, its nature, and its culture —and is proud to call it his home. Sam has seven years of content creation under his belt and brings that knowledge to fight the good fight and make sure that Arkansas has the opportunity to live up to its endless potential. Arkansas’s state motto is

"The People Rule"

But for too long, many of our state politicians have been operating in the shadows, prioritizing interests of the wealthy and powerful over interests of the people. They put partisanship and deep-pocket campaign donors ahead of us, the voters.

This is our state. We are fighting back.
