Securing a photocopy of ID shouldn’t be an obstacle for Arkansans voting from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Luckily, a series of drive-thru events will provide voters with the copies they need, safely, easily and free of charge.
GoVoteAR.org, a one-stop shop where Arkansans can pull together plans to cast their ballots safely, is offering drive-thru photocopy services from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, at locations in Little Rock, North Little Rock and Rogers.
Arkansas law requires that every voter using an absentee ballot submit a photocopy of one of the following:
- Arkansas driver’s license
- Arkansas photo ID card
- Concealed handgun carry license
- US Passport
- Employee badge or ID issued by an Arkansas post-secondary education institution
- US military ID
- Public assistance ID card with photo
- Voter verification card with photo
“A lot of folks don’t have access to printers at home, which can be frustrating,” organizer Gennie Hirschy said. “We want to help make voting from home as easy as possible for those who want or need to cast ballots this way.”
All GoVoteAR.org drive-thru locations will adhere to CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid-19. There will also be voter registration forms available, and volunteers will be on hand to help answer any voting-related questions.
All locations open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, September 26.
